LeBron

So LeBron is going to Miami, and I am sure that you were all waiting to hear my thoughts on this. Ultimately, I do not care a lot. Here are my thoughts:

  1. I wish that he would have chosen Cleveland. If you are going to go on ESPN to announce your decision in a one-hour special, you should stick with Cleveland. If you are going to pick Miami, just announce it in a Tweet. That was just mean of him.
  2. I agree with Bill Simmons: I think that the fix was in from the start. LeBron made up his mind a long time ago, and was simply milking it for the last couple of weeks.
  3. Many people are complaining that Jordan would not have done this, and stating that this is a move of weakness. Some say that he should have stayed in Cleveland and created a team around him to win a championship. These seem to be the same people who revere winning. But doesn't Miami give him the best chance to win? Either they win 4 of the next 6 titles or they implode, right?
  4. James went from the most liked NBA player to the most hated in a matter of moments.
  5. A lot of people are complaining about his narcissism, that his attitude is what is wrong with sports. He is narcissistic, but it is largely because people care too much about this stuff. Dr. Frankenstein, meet your monster.

I am serious that I am trying to ignore sports. It's a process, folks.
